Five reasons Maths benefits children

Maths quizzes take away fear children may face in classrooms.

Maths games and activities can help your child develop an enthusiasm for numbers.

Some children may find this a dreadful subject so introducing maths games will help them practice and improve their mathematical skills.

Because it is World Maths Day, all maths students are invited to challenge themselves by taking part in competitive mathematical quizzes whether online or in books.

Here are five reasons why maths is advantageous to students:

1. It takes away fear. When students work on maths activities in a relaxed environment it takes away the pressure they may feel in the classroom which makes it less scary.

2. It helps develop strategic thinking. While completing maths puzzles, children develop problem-solving skills.

3. It helps children enjoy the subject more. According to an online report, games increase children’s enjoyment of maths and boost their confidence.

4. There is a possibility your child will earn more money. A study from the Institute of Fiscal Studies showed children who have strong maths skills at the age of 10 years, will earn much more money in their 30s.

5. They learn transferable skills. The skills they learn when dealing with maths are logical thinking, mental fluency, perseverance and the ability to cope with failure.

Start implementing maths games to your children a an early age and they will learn to enjoy the subject.
