Maragon’s pupil Hermanus van Staden was recently awarded full Gauteng Provincial School Colours as a shooting athlete by the Gauteng Schools Shooting Union (GSSU).
The U/14 sporter age group member also currently represents his school nationally because of his achievements.
Hermanus competed in all six GSSU matches throughout the year and was able to obtain higher than above Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) scores for all the league matches.
He also achieved the following at the South African National School Shooting Union’s (SANSSU) which was held from 4-8 October:
• He won two team gold medals and one individual bronze medal in the 10 metre Sporter discipline category.
• He finished fourth place in the U/14 sporter class shooters country wide and obtained his personal best score of counting 60 shots.
• He received the gold medals in the best U/14 Sporter Team nationwide.
Hermanus has done well in all the competitions he participated in thus far and his school is proud of his successes.
