Roodepoort SPCA fundraiser rocks Rumours Lounge

All of the artists performed for free.

Local bands rocked the Rumours Lounge stages on Saturday 10 October when they performed for free at the Roodepoort SPCA fundraiser.

Wonderboom, No Regret and Pheonix Turbine were amongst 16 other bands and solo acts who performed at the Rocking for Paws event, all for a good cause.

No Regret started off with a bang as soon as they opened the show which followed with loud cheers and dances from the crowd.

The band then expressed their gratitude for being able to perform at the event.

“Animals are much more important than human beings. They cannot speak and make music so it was such a privilege for us to perform to help them,” said No Regret’s bassist and vocalist, Neil Hamiton.

Phoenix Turbine’s backing vocalist and guitarist, Tom Pellem also told the Record they enjoyed performing for a good cause.

“We love animals and we dislike people who abuse them,” Tom said.

It was evident from the sound of the crowd after every performance that every artist who took to the stage performed really well.

Those who brought a bag of dog food to the fundraiser received a complimentary shooter.

Organiser of the event, Nicole Manners said they collected a huge amount of food.

“The support has been wonderful especially since all the musicians have come to perform for free.

I could not have done it without Fanbase Music Magazine as it was a group effort and after all, we just want to help the animals, she said.

Nicole said the fundraiser turned out to be very successful.
