Cop allegedly wanted to commit suicide.
A Florida Policeman was arrested for attempted murder on Friday after allegedly shooting his wife in the face while attempting to commit suicide.
The incident took place at the couple’s Florida home when the officer took out his service pistol in order to commit suicide. His wife tried to prevent him from shooting and a shot accidentally went off. The woman is currently in a critical condition while the man was detained at Florida Police Station.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) will be investigating the case and will only decide what charges to lay once they have visited the woman in hospital.
Florida Police Station referred the Record to the provincial structure for comment but the officer on duty was not available for comment.
