Vote for Truffles

To vote for Truffles visit www.petslimmer.co.za before 22 October. Here is Truffles before she lost weight.

Truffles Bartlett, 5, is one out of nine dogs who qualified for the semifinals in the Pet Slimmer competition.

The female cocker Spaniel lost about 3.1 kilograms in six months while participating in the competition. She went from weighing 17.7 to 14.6 kilograms.

Her owner, Robyn Bartlett said Truffles used to be overweight. “After I felt her stomach and found it was bloated, I knew something had to be done,” she said.

Robyn then took Truffles to the veterinarian who instructed her that her dog needed to lose weight.

“Because Truffles was spayed at a young age, it contributed to her getting chubby.”

Truffles used to eat all the time and was not restricted to any foods, however, since she entered the competition she has been on a strict diet plan.

According to Robyn, Truffles is doing well and has much more energy than before.

“I am very proud of her,” Robyn said.
