Local rockstars show their soft side

Members of the No Regret band gave up an hour of their time to help at the Roodepoort SPCA.

Local band, No Regret took an hour of their time on Saturday, 3 October to play with the animals and clean the premises of the Roodepoort SPCA.

The band who has been together for 10 years portrayed true comradery and kept on teasing each other while working which seems part of their usual routine when they are together.

“We are nicer to animals than we are to each other,” joked Miles Fisher, lead guitarist and vocalist of No Regret.

Despite the humid weather which caused them to perspire as they tilled the soil, they kept on working until everything was completed.

Right after they finished tilling the soil, the band played with dogs and kittens from the shelter because according to bassist and vocalist Neil Hamiton, they are huge animal lovers.

“We do not just want to be looked upon as a band, but a group of men who shows compassion to others while trying to be rockstars,” said Neil.

He added working together at the Roodepoort SPCA helped them bond as they do not always get to spend time together apart from their usual gigs and band practice.

Neil said the worst part about visiting the SPCA is that he always wants to take a bunch of animals home.

The drummer of the band is Alastair Hamilton.

Catch the trio this Saturday, 10 October at the Roodepoort SPCA’s Rocking for Paws fundraiser hosted by Rumours Lounge.

The show will take place at 2pm and the entrance fee is R50.
