Holy day for Jews

Today all Jews are celebrating Simchat Torah.

All Jews will celebrate Simchat Torah as today marks the conclusion of their annual Torah readings.

Simchat Torah means Rejoicing in the Torah.

Every week, Jews are expected to gather in a synagogue to read a few chapters from the Torah. Their readings start from Genesis chapter one, until Deuteronomy chapter four.

On Simchat Torah, they read the last Torah portion and then proceed immediately to the first chapter of Genesis. By doing this they are reminded the Torah is a circle, and never ends.

This completion of the readings is a time of great celebration for Jews which takes place in the evening and morning services.

We would like to wish our Jewish readers well for today.
