Hunting for treasures in nature

The Nature Treasure Hunt is for educational purposes.

Taking time out from school to go on a treasure hunt is special, doing it at the Kloofendal Nature Reserve is even more special.

Friends of Kloofendal hosted 135 pupils from Zifuleleni Junior Senior School in a nature treasure hunt today (1 October).

This event caters for environmental education in the field, teaching basic map reading skills and team building for grades four and up.

According to Karin Spottiswoode from Friends of Kloofendal (Frok) they pupils get to see and do thins in nature. “We provided them with a questionnaire and they have to look for the answers on a specific trail. This forms part of their curriculum.”
