The 63-year-old owner of the Greyhound has reportedly shown no remorse when he appeared in court.

Moments after the article was posted on Facebook yesterday, comments by angry users surfaced on the Record’s Facebook page as well as in various online community forums.

Here are some of the comments the Record received:

Rene Geldenhuys: Hulle voel niks vir `n mens of dier nie… SIEK. Ek wil net huil as ek die arme hond sien!

Sonel Steyn: Sick piece of rubbish, that is what he is. He is not a man, he is worse than an animal and needs to be beaten like that. I hope he gets punished.

Paola Sardinha: We want a law against the abuse of any kind of animal. Who is going to do this for our animals of South Africa? Where do we get this done?

Barbara Ann du Plessis: Cannot comment…too disgusted.

Liezl De Villiers Bruwer: My hart is stukkend. Geen dier verdien so `n eienaar nie. Die arme hond het seker nie eens kos gehad om te eet nie. Dit is so wreed. Hoop regtig die man word swaar gestraf vir sy onmenslike dade. RIP precious one.
