Discovery resident has a caring heart

Although her income is not much, she still finds a way to give back to the community.

Giving to those in need does not always need to be in large quantities.

Renetta Govender, 42, gave up her full-time job as a release technician at a towing company to sell food and give back to the community.

Although she is still building her business and does not make a lot of money, she still finds a way to donate a portion of her income to charities.

She delivers her food and goes to various places every day, like the Florida Police Station, to sell her food.

One of the charities she has donated to and plans to continue to do so in the future, is non-profit organisation (NPO), People Who Care Region 2.

Founded by Julian Couser, People Who Care uses whatever goods they receive from the community and give to those who need it.

They also visit old-age homes to lend an ear to the residents who want to talk.

Not only does Renetta support People Who Care, she also supports NPO, Kids For Life in Lenasia. Kids For Life raises awareness of and prevent childhood illnesses and disease.

“There is so much more I want to do for the community,” she said. “All my life I have had a giving spirit and I feel that if God blesses you, you should bless others too.”

She says whenever she has a problem, she can depend on the Florida community for help which is why she will always give back to her community.
