Davidsonville soccer tournament a success

The match went from one end to the other as both teams tried to gain an advantage.

For the last two weeks, Davidsonville Sports Grounds were host to hundreds of youngsters as they competed in a soccer tournament.

The competition, with Keep our Kids off the street as the theme had16 senior teams and 16 junior teams participating.

The competition was hosted by Liverpool SA had a feast of matches that had the Davidsonville community who attended, at the edges of their seats.

In the seniors final, Missouri Football Club took on SAPS Football Club in a true clash of titans.

The match went from one end to the other as both teams tried to gain an advantage.

However, it was Missouri who established an unassailable lead to end the day victorious by beating SAPS 4-2 and are this year’s tournament winners.

In the earlier matches, the juniors had a chance to show off their talent on the field.

In the U/11 final, Diplomats Football Club went head to head with Davidsonville Football Club.

The match did not disappoint and the two teams were evenly matched as the match ended 2-2.

Extra time could not separate the two teams and the winner was decided by sudden death penalties. Diplomats edged their opponents in the penalty shootout 5-4 to be crowned the U/11 champions.
