Cheerful crowd at Oneness Day Festival

The On Florida Oneness Day festival kept the crowd entertained.

On Florida and The Dragon Boat club celebrated Heritage Day with a bang on Thursday (24 September) at their Oneness Day Festival.

Food stalls selling traditional food kept the hunger bug away and an open mic was available for attendants to take advantage of.

Florida Lake was jazzed up by loud music playing through various speakers and people dancing to the sound of the music.

Security companies were also present to exhibit their services and they sponsored security guards on the day to make sure everyone was safe.

Caleb Finn from the On Florida Forum said they wanted to promote oneness and unity amongst security companies too.

Hypnotist Max Kaan stunned the crowd after he caused 10 volunteers to cast under his hypnotic spell.

“First,” he instructed the crowd, “I want you to know you are the best violinist so show the crowd how well you play your instrument.”

Seconds later, the volunteers who were now hypnotised got up from their chairs and played their imaginary violins.

The crowd cheered loudly when they saw this.

Sergeant Reinier Henning from the K9 Search and Rescue Unit demonstrated in the lake, along with his dog Tyson, how his dog saves stranded and drowning swimmers.

The proceeds accumulated on the day will go towards On Florida Community Forum.

“Although the festival was not as well attended as we hoped, it was still a successful day,” Caleb said.
