Stikeez for child cancer patients

2000 Stikeez collected.

Maragon Private School recently used the Stikeez fad that has been taking the country by storm for a good purpose.

The school collected about 1500 Stikeez to deliver to the children in Paediatric Oncology wards, who are on chemotherapy, undergoing radiation or waiting for surgery. A group of grade 11 pupils assisted with packing the Stikeez into individual small zip lock bags, for distribution to various Oncology units.

This project was initiated by All Hands On Deck Friends, in loving memory of all the kids who suffer and left too soon as a result of cancer.

“Maragon had also lost two pupils who left this world due to cancer and would have matriculated this year, Kyle Witthuhn and Dominique Charlebois. Maragon participated in this project in loving memory of these two past pupils,” said the school’s spokesperson Belinda Espag.

A parody Facebook Page, South Africans against Dagga and Satanism created controversy when they claimed amidst the craze that the Stikeez were “satanic”.
