Cell phone shop in Witpoortjie robbed again

I want people to know what is going on in Witpoortjie.

A cell phone store, JP Store, in Generaal Pienaar Avenue has been robbed for the third time in so many months this afternoon just past midday.

About seven armed men entered the store and held the owner and his assistant at gun point. They took stock, customers’ cell phones that were in for repair as well as laptops. According to the owner, who do not want to be named, more than a R100 000’s goods were taken. He said he recognised the men from the previous robberies but they used a different getaway vehicle.

One of the street vendors across the street, who happened to see what was happening rushed over and had a gun pointed at him. He also said he was highly upset that none of the neighbouring tenants tried to help but only locked their doors. He furthermore expressed his dismay at how long the police took to arrive.
