According to Roodepoort Police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo a popular service station on Ontdekkers Road fell prey to an armed robbery last Thursday morning.

Two men and a woman walked into the service court of the Engen Garage at Princess Crossing at about 2am carrying a 5l container. They told the attendant they were stuck and they wanted to buy R20’s worth of petrol. The attendant obliged and they paid. They then asked for water but were told there is no outside tap. The three suspects said they wanted to buy something from the convenience store. Once inside they pulled out a firearm and ordered the employees as well as the security guard to lie down.
