More power outages in Roodepoort

ROODEPOORT – City Power announced more power outages for 26 September due to required maintenance.

City Power has announced that they are planning power outages on 26 September, due to required maintenance in the area.

The planned power interruptions will only occur late at night, to ensure businesses and consumers are not affected,” said City Power acting outage coordinator Dikeledi Mokapela.

She said the outages remain an inconvenience but in order for electricity supply to function at its maximum potential, the power has to be switched off to execute maintenance.

Outages will occur from 10pm until 6am in the following areas:

26 September: Allen’s Nek Ext 3, 4 and 9; Panorama A.H;

Weltevreden Park Ext 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 17, 18, 19, 24, 26, 28, 30, 34, 38, 41, 47, 56, 59, 79, 82, 83, 85, 86, 96, 98, 99, 100, 101, 103, 107, 111, 123, 125, 126, 127, 133 and 134.

Mokapela said residents should prepare accordingly as the mentioned areas will definitely be isolated.

Ward 126 Ward councillor Mike Tonkin said residents should prepare themselves by taking early baths or showers and pre-preparing food.

Tonkin said he does not know why these outages happen but he is up to his ears about it.
