One person was killed and four others were injured in a collision that occurred on Christiaan de Wet Road this past Friday evening.
The collision involved two vehicles and two pedestrians. The driver of one of the vehicles allegedly swerved out for a pedestrian and then hit another pedestrian and collided with a vehicle. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the four injured patients had sustained minor injuries and there was nothing that could be done for the second pedestrian, who had already succumbed to his injuries.
ER24 paramedics treated and transported two patients to Flora Clinic for further treatment. The other patients were transported by other medical services. The cause of the incident remains unknown, but local authorities were on scene for investigation.
