Fly like a gymnast

Gymnastics is a sport that is slowly becoming more popular.

Gymnastics might not be as popular as the Rugby World Cup right now, however, it is a sport that is evolving in its popularity.

Gymnastics originated as an activity in ancient Greece. The sport was introduced as a form of exercising, staying healthy and preparing for battle.

Today, people all over the world celebrate National Gymnastics Day which started in 1998.
Local gymnasts have also been thriving in the area. Last month the Record published an article about Visions Gymnastics‘ Eugene Ngcobo and Bianca Mann. They participated in the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) team a few days ago.

How can you celebrate this day?

• If you always wanted to learn gymnastics, do so today. Find a club or a gym in the area and get started!

• Encourage your loved ones to join you on this new adventure and sign up at a gymnastics class with you.
