Boy,17, disappears after apparent suicide note

"It's not your fault. I'm just a bugger up," he said in the note.

A 17-year-old Hoërskool Bastion pupil, Shane Roberts, disappeared this morning after leaving an apparent suicide note with his girlfriend to his parents.

In the note, he stipulates that him wanting to end his life is neither his parents’ nor his girlfriend’s fault.

His girlfriend’s mother said he sent text messages to her daughter informing her about his decision.

“He told my daughter it is not her fault and he even left flowers for her in her closet. My daughter is stressing so much right now,” she said.

His father Lance van Niekerk does not know what he was wearing at the time he went missing.

If you have seen him or have any more information, call Van Niekerk on 076 641 9761.
