A sports company donates vests to the needy

WILGEHEUWEL - Ray helps the needy get fit.

A businessman who is the director of the biggest SA fitness company, has donated 252 sports vests to the needy.

Ray Bienedell, who resides in Wilgeheuwel, is the Group Operations Director for Run/Walk For Life which has a few branches around Gauteng.

He handed over the vests to Caxton Jhb North West on 27 August.

Businessman Ray Bienedell gives back to the community.

“Taking care of the needy is one of our priorities. For us it is not all about making profit, but also making sure our community is fit, healthy and well taken care off,” said Bienedell.

He said for the past years, they donated to a number of sports centres and the Rand Park branch donates to Kingsway Christian School regularly.

“A few years ago, I donated six pairs of running shoes to Caxton Jhb North West readers when we launched our Sharonlea branch,” he said.

“The vests we are donating now are valued at R62 000,” Biendell said.

“We are launching a new kit, so we couldn’t just destroy the vests while we have more needy communities,” he said.

Bienedell said the vests are meant for active runners within the needy communities for training purposes.
