Try this yummy Welsh Rarebit.

How does a dish that includes a savoury sauce with melted cheese poured over slices of toasted bread sound like for a morning snack?

Well as National Welsh Rarebit Day is celebrated, this should definitely be on your list of meals to eat for the day.

The rarebit sauce includes ale, ground cayenne pepper, ground paprika and Worcestershire sauce.

This dish is mostly popular in Europe and in certain parts of the world.

Here are fun facts about Welsh Rarebit:

• The name Welsh Rarebit originate from the 18th century in Great Britain.

• It is mentioned in Betty Crocker’s Cookbook that Welsh peasants were not allowed to eat rabbits that were caught during hunting, so they used melted cheese as a substitute.

• Although rarebit sounds similar to rabbit, it does not contain any rabbit ingredients.

• There are more than one way to make a rarebit.
