Allen Glen High bullies’ court date set

Five Allen Glen High girls accused of assault will appear in court on 1 September.

The pupils of Allen Glen High School who allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old fellow pupil on 7 August, just outside the school gates, will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 1 September.

Honeydew Police spokesperson Warrant Officer (WO) Karen Jacobs said the case has been settled and all the statements from the various parties have been taken by the police.

“The accused parties will appear in court next week during which it will be determined if they are guilty,” said Jacobs.

In the previous story, the uncle of the victim Ceaser Ntsele, said his niece was hit in the back and face and then also pushed in front of a moving vehicle by the the girls after being accused of being a traitor.

The Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Phumla Sekhonyane, responded in our previous report, that the department was aware of the incident and also concerned about it.

“We are committed to creating environments that are conductive to learning and teaching and this is not,” said Sekhonyane,

Meanwhile Senior Governing Board (SGB) member Warren MacKrill said Allen Glen High held a disciplinary hearing on 25 August, during which the girls were found guilty of the accusations.

Ntsele could not be reached at the time for any further comment but he had previously indicated that his niece did not obtain any serious injuries besides bruises.

He had added however, that his niece was emotional and scared after the incident.
