Pathways Roodepoort welcomes new principal

Meet Sunette Pretorius.

Pathways Roodepoort, a stimulation centre for children and young adults with severe mental and physical disabilities has welcomed their new principal Sunette Pretorius.

The non-profit organisation (NPO) was established in 2005 and started off with three children now takes care of 32 children between the ages of three and 27 years.

Pathways educates children who have brain damage and also offers training to caregivers at the centre.

The training program teaches caregivers how to handle and work with the children and once they have mastered this, they are considered for permanent employment.

Sunette Pretorius, who has worked in the corporate industry all her life, is proud to be the new principle of Pathways.

“I love children and it has always been my dream to reach out to the community. As soon as I saw the available vacancy, I applied because this is something I wanted to do for a long time,” Sunette said.

She said she has big plans for the future and looks forward to working with everyone at the centre.

Because Pathways Roodepoort relies on fundraising, sponsorships and donations they request from the community to make a donation to sustain the centre.
