All indications are that Roodepoort and Florida residents wouldn’t be too heavily affected by load shedding today, Friday 21 August, or this weekend.
According to the official City Power load shedding schedule and Grid Watch, Block 3B (Roodepoort and surrounds) were to be load shed in the wee hours between 12 midnight and 4.30am this morning, which did not happen.
On Saturday 22 August Block 3B residents will not be affected by load shedding at Stage 1 or 2 but are scheduled at Stage 3 between 8am and 12.30pm. On Sunday residents are scheduled for load shedding at all stages from 4pm til 8.30pm with additional time slots at Stage 2 and 3 from 12 midnight til 4.30am.
Block 7B (Florida and surrounds) residents are scheduled at all three stages today but according to Eskom on twitter, “the load shedding prognosis for today is low”. They’re scheduled for 4pm til 8.30pm with a double time slot at Stage 2 and 3 from 12 midnight til 4.30am.

Saturday holds no load shedding for Florida, with nothing reflecting on either schedules. On Sunday Florida is only scheduled for Stage 2 or 3 load shedding from 4pm til 8.30pm.
