Join the Run/Walk 4 Fun

RANDPARK RIDGE –- The church invites the community to join them as they celebrate their anniversary with a fun run on 5 September.

In September 1975, a group of young families in Randpark Ridge formed a church that incorporated the Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian denominations.

Randpark Ridge United Church conducted its first worship service in a family room on Randpark Drive.

Allan Flint, who coaches hockey at Rand Park High, is also a youth director at Randpark Ridge United Church.

On 5 September 2015, RRUC will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a Run/Walk 4 Fun, that will pass by all the historic meeting places of their church.

This will comprise a 10km, 5km and 2km for wheel chairs, with a cost of R50 for adults, R25 for under 16 and breakfast for sale at R25, kids’ entertainment will be free.

A prize-giving ceremony will take place at 11am and a thanksgiving service by Minister Reverend Craig Morrison at 11.30am.

The church in involved in the development of sports, through sport coaching, that started in 2011 at Randpark High School where Allan Flint, their youth director coaches hockey and tennis to various teams throughout the year.

They also have a biker’s group that was started because their Rev Craig Morrison is a passionate biker.

The group does regular breakfast runs on a Saturday morning.

The church would like to invite the Randburg community and beyond to join them as they celebrate this special occasion.
