A Perseid is any of a group of meteors that appear in the sky at about about 11 August.

Because a new moon is expected tonight, Perseids are due to fall at its thickest which means the sky will almost be completely dark.

So how should you watch out for meteor showers?

Check the weather. If the skies are clear, meteors will be easily observed.

Find a place far away from artificial lights.
