Major drug bust but…

Questions surrounding the whereabouts of suspects.

In what has been called a great team effort by those involved, the Florida Community Policing Forum (CPF), K9 unit and Florida police made a drug bust at about noon on Tuesday confiscating R45 000’s worth of drugs.

Acting on a tip-off the team went to a flat in Hull Street. On entering the premises they requested  three Nigerian and one South African national to conduct a search to which the four suspects obliged. The team found R45 000’s worth of drugs, an undisclosed amount of cash, counterfeit DVD’s, cell phones and a PSP.

The Record though received disturbing information from a reliable source this morning that the suspects have not been charged or appeared in a magistrate’s court and has been released. The Record has urgently appealed to Florida Police Station to either confirm or deny this and is currently awaiting their feedback. Just before going to press Florida Police spokesperson Captain Lydia Dikholomelo has indicated that the detective on the case was on his way to her with the docket to explain the situation.
