On Florida launches Heritage Day Festival

People will get to learn about each other's different cultures.

The On Florida Community Forum will be collaborating with the Dragon Boat Club by hosting a festival to celebrate Heritage Day next month.

The festival called ‘Oneness Day’ will be a fun-filled day where people get to learn about each others cultures.

The name, Oneness Day is an international celebration which celebrates the diverse cultures of humanity.

The festival starts at 10am and will comprise of stalls which will be decorated with national flags and contain food from different nationalities.

Elaine Whittal, coordinator of the festival encouraged people to dress according to the food they will serve on the day.

“If you will be selling Portuguese food, try to dress up in a Portuguese attire,” she said.

Food stalls cost R200 and can be booked through Elaine via email elaine.whittal@telkomsa.net or call her on 0723608882.

The proceeds accumulated on the day will go towards On Florida Community Forum.

The day is for everyone and people from different ages and companies are invited to enter their teams in the dragon boat races. Each team must consist of 19 people.
