15-year-old pupil assaulted

RADIOKOP – Allen Glen High School pupil is assaulted by five fellow pupils.

A 15-year-old girl from Allen Glen High School was allegedly assaulted by five fellow pupils after school on 7 August, just outside the school gates.

“My niece was beaten by five girls from her grade, after being accused of being a traitor,” said Ceaser Ntsele, a Radiokop resident.

Ntsele said the case has been reported to the Honeydew Police Station but he has not received any word from the police yet.

He further stated that he was informed by the police that he will be contacted in order for his niece to give a formal statement.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs was not immediately available for comment.

Senior governing board member Warren Mackrill said he will not be able to give comment on the outcome until a disciplinary hearing has been held by the school.

“A hearing will be held within the next 10 to 14 days during which we will determine what the punishment for the accused pupils will be.

Senior governing board member Warren Mackrill said he will only be able to comment on the matter once a formal disciplinary hearing has been held by Allen Glen High School.

The pupils have however, been suspended for the next seven days, but they will still be allowed to write their cycle test on Friday,” explained Mackrill.

Ntsele said his niece is scared of what would happen when the pupils return to school after their suspension period.

He added that he is not hopeful that the pupils will be punished by the police or the school.

“Assault has almost become a natural occurrence, and a blind eye is being turned by authorities” said Ntsele.

According to Ntsele, the doctor’s report did not indicate that the girl has sustained any serious physical injuries.
