According to media reports, a 14-year old girl fell to her death at the Northgate Shopping Centre on the evening 11 August.
“At the moment we are waiting for the police to complete their investigations. We can confirm that a body was found.” said Natalie Berkhout, Northgate Shopping Centre marketing manager.
Warrant Officer Balan Muthan from the Douglasdale Police Station said, “She jumped from the roof of the Northgate Shopping Centre. She died of her injuries.”
The body has been taken to the Roodepoort State Mortuary for a postmortem to determine cause of death.
