7 tips for fresher breath

Having fresh breath is important especially for those intimate moments.

When people interact with others, sometimes it is important for them to ensure the person on the receiving end is not ‘suffering’ because of their smelly breath.

That is why National Fresh Breath Day was created – to promote the importance of having good smelling breath and this day is celebrated across the world.

An online article states 50 per cent of bad breath is caused by bacteria in the mouth.

Here are a few ways you can ensure your breath smells good every day:

1. Brush your teeth and tongue twice a day. A study has shown by brushing the back of the tongue, they have found bad breath was reduced by 70 per cent.

2. Floss regularly. By flossing each time after you have had a meal, plaque which is a bacteria, is removed.

3. Drink lots of water. Lack of fluids in the body leads to a dry mouth which also causes bad breath.

4. Eat yoghurt. Yoghurt replenishes good bacteria in your gut and sweetens your breath.

5. Chew gum. This produces more saliva in your mouth which reduces bacteria.

6. Use mouth wash. By rinsing your mouth with mouthwash after brushing your teeth, your breath stays fresher for longer.

7. Have regular dental check-ups. This needs to be done every six months to check for cavities.
