Ol’ Crocs reunite

Guest speaker was Cliff Buchler, also a past scholar of the school.

Former scholars of Florida Park High School, known as the Ol’ Crocs, reunited during a lunch at the Rusty Hook restaurant in Honeydew.

Included among the 140 guests were scholars who had attended the school in 1955. Among them were Titch and Marge Reinhardt, now residing in Australia., Johan van Loggerenburg, who went on to become a top educationist, and Willy van Niekerk, who later taught at the school.

He recalled some of the funnier incidents occurring in the classroom, and waxing nostalgic about teachers and class mates who made his school career “bearable”.

The school will be celebrating its 60th year in August. Past scholars who wish to participate in this milestone event can email Gail Crossman-Ferguson on gail@robferguson.co.za
