RUIMSIG – ETS makes waves at the Engen Under 17 Knockout Challenge.
ETS (Education Through Soccer) played in the Engen U17 Knockout Challenge at Wits Marks Park in Emmarentia on 31 July to 2 August.
ETS club is based in Ruimsig and their U17 qualified for the Engen Knockout Challenge.
They competed with soccer club giants such as: Senoane Gunners, Bidvest Wits, Rosina Sedibane FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and finally SuperSport United FC.

Head coach Benedict Vilakazi, former player for Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns said, “I cannot ask more from these boys. In just six months we have come so far and with the help of God it has taken the team to this challenge.”
Out of the 64 teams that started the final matches were between ETS and Mamelodi Sundowns which resulted in a 0 – 1 loss. The final and most exciting match for ETS was against SuperSport United FC for third or fourth place.

During the gruelling match, the boys worked extremely well to maintain possession. The game ended in ETA receiving fourth place with a 0 – 1 loss to SuperSport United.
Vilakazi added, “We not only take away great results, but the players have learned valuable experiences from the established clubs. I am extremely proud and happy with the boys.”
