Get M.A.D about drugs this weekend

The movement, which was established two months ago, aims to assist and rehabilitate youngsters involved in drugs.

The Movement Against Drugs (M.A.D) will be hosting a family fun day this weekend at the Bill Jardine Rugby Stadium in Wibsey Dip.

“We help boys and girls that have left school that need rehabilitation back in society,” said M.A.D’s Merise Thomas.

According to Thomas, the movement has already assisted two rehab facilities in Florida with food, clothes and raising funds.

“Reaching out to areas such as Eldorado Park and Ennerdale who have been affected by drugs,” she said.

Marshall and Judy Antonio established the movement when their son was in rehab.

When they visited him in the rehab facility, they found their son lying on the floor during the cold winter months and they did not have any warm clothes.

The family asked their friends to assist and the movement grew from there.
