Mrs Commonwealth finalist hosts charity event

All Mrs Commonwealth finalists are required to do charity work and need votes from the public to win the title.

Mrs Commonweath SA finalist, Marika Scott, will give back to the community on 1 August by hosting a fun day for charity.

It will take place at Spur in Hole-in-one Road, Ruimsig, and the proceeds will go to Pink Drive, a PBO (Public Benefit Organisation), which raises Breast Cancer awareness.

On that day, children can look forward to face painting, playing on the jungle gym and music where people can show off their dancing skills.

Nurses will also be available to give advice to women on the importance of a mammogram and about breast cancer related topics.

“It is going to be a day of fun and I am really excited,” Marika said.

She said it has always been her dream to give back to the community and she hopes to make a difference to people through hosting charity events as well as giving motivational speeches.

The crowning of Mrs Commonwealth will take place at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City and tickets cost R350 which can be purchased through her.
