MULDERSDRIFT – Garden World officially opened spring festival, a garden design show on 23 July.

Garden World officially opened Nature’s Bounty – a garden design show on 23 July.

The show will continue until the end of August with various designed gardens displayed for the residents to see as they welcome the spring season.

Their 17 designer gardens showcase the wealth of indigenous plants and flowers in Muldersdrift.

Main attractions include school gardens, children’s box gardens, floral exhibits of the Gauteng Flora Union and Interflora and educational exhibits by Rand Water’s Water Wise, North West University and Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo.

General manager at Garden World Jansen van Rensburg explained, “This is our 21st annual spring festival. This year’s Kirstenbosch South Africa Chelsea Exhibit entitled, South Africa in Bloom; 40 years at the Chelsea Flower Show, which was exhibited in London, has been recreated here.”

Van Rensburg added that the festival provided an opportunity to celebrate the precious beauty of the flower world.

He said various topics about gardens will be discussed throughout the festival.

David Son from Kirstenbosch elaborated that they were celebrating plant gardens and the well-being that it brings.

Son, a graphic designer, explained that he enjoyed plants and gardens.

“I spent 12 years of my life practising as a psychologist and I felt this was not my path and I opted for my passion for gardening,” Son said.
