The Teddy Bear Clinic will host a high tea on 12 September to raise funds and awareness for their organisation.
This non-profit organisation (NPO) has branches in Soweto and Krugersdorp examines and assists children who have been sexually abused, through medical examinations.
The fundraiser that will take place at Kloofzicht Lodge in Muldersdrift at 10am and is open to everyone at a cost of R300 which should be paid when you book your seat.
A volunteer for the Teddy Bear Clinic in Krugersdorp, Angela de Bruyn, said she is very excited about the event.
“Children need to be protected against child abuse because they are the future,” she said.
The speaker, Dr TM Robinson who is a social worker, will speak about “False allegations of sexual abuse during and after divorce proceedings.”
A victim of sexual abuse who recovered through the Teddy Bear Clinic will also talk about her experience and her journey about healing from her ordeal.
Attendees will be spoiled with treats and tea and each person will receive a book written by Dr Robinson.
The proceeds will go to both Teddy Bear Clinic’s to better the facilities for children who have been sexually abused.
