CoJ gives back in Bramfischerville

Crum and Region C thanked their sponsors for assistance.

The City of Johannesburg’s (CoJ’s) Citizen Relationship and Urban Management (Crum) department gave back to Sizanane Day Care Centre in honour of Nelson Mandela on Friday 17 July.

The early childhood development center was identified as it cares for 85 pre-school children in the nearby community of Bramfischerville, Region C director Mlamleli Belot told the Record.

Staff undertook maintenance activities by painting the class rooms, jungle gyms and ablution facilities on the day. They also cleared rubble on the premises as well as the illegal dumping site adjacent to the centre. Staff members also spent time with the children telling stories, leading education games and distributing refreshments to them. Finally, the group prepared soil and started a vegetable patch outside the center as well as planting fruit trees.
