Treat yourself

If you have a sweet tooth then this day is for you.

National Lollipop Day was created especially for those with a sweet tooth.

After all, who can resist a sweet treat every once in a while?

These colourful candies were invented in the early 1900s by George Smith, the owner of an American candy store.

Before lollipops were invented, people used to eat honey on a stick for a treat.

Lollipops comes in different shapes and flavours; including flavours that contain bugs, crickets and ants.

The world’s largest lollipop was made in America in 2012 and weighed over 3000 kilograms.

To celebrate National Lollipop Day, make it with sugar, water, corn syrup and your favourite flavouring.
