At about 11.30am this morning a woman was ran over after a road rage incident and the driver fled.
The incident happened after the man was driving behind the victim on Ontdekkers Road. For reasons unknown he lost his temper and followed her. She turned into CR Swart Drive and at the entrance of Wilrogate Shopping Centre he stopped behind her. According to a family member on the scene the man allegedly got out of his vehicle and approached the woman’s vehicle in an aggressive fashion. The woman also got out with a baseball bat in order to defend herself.
The man decided to flee but in the process ran her over and drove on. His vehicle registration number is allegedly known to the Metro Police.
The woman’s leg was broken just above her ankle at a 45 degree angle.
ER 24 treated her on the scene while the Metro Police conducted their investigation.
