Alleged sexual offender’s case postponed the umpteenth time

The case has been postponed again.

The trial of a 32-year-old man that allegedly had exposed himself to school children in 2013 is still dragging on.

His trial in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court was to start on 7 July but was postponed to 28 August to allow further investigation to take place.

In April the case was postponed because the magistrate presiding over his trial had to deal with matters brought before the Johannesburg High Court.

He gave his alibi in a court appearance this year; according to him the offences allegedly took place while he was at work.

He allegedly offered a 17-year-old Hoërskool Bastion pupil R200 to perform oral sex on him, amongt other allegations.

Since his arrest in 2013 the charges relating to the case reduced from nine to six when some victims decided to withdraw before testifying.

He pleaded not guilty to charges pertaining to the Sexual Offences Amendment Act 32 of 2007 last year.

Due to the case involving underaged children, his name has not been made public.
