Become a contestant for Miss/Mr Cansa

Become a Miss or Mr Cansa contestant as Oxygen Ultimate Models teams up with Cansa to bring to you their annual beauty pageant.

Cansa (Cancer Association of South Africa) will host their annual Mr/Miss Cansa beauty pageant on 1 August.

If you think you have what it takes to steal the hearts of the audience and you would like to be Cansa’s ambassador for a year then you are encouraged to enter.

“So many contestants have entered the pageant over the years and it was evident that it was not about the prize to them but about doing it from their heart,” said coordinator of the event, Ester Pretorius.

Ester said the judges pay specific attention to the way you present yourself on that day. The way you walk, model and dress is important.

Last year’s second-princess, Nandi Oosthuizen said she entered the pageant because it is for a good purpose and she wants to set an example to the youth.

“You are never too young to live your dream,” she said.

She added by entering the competition, you are awarded the privilege to make a difference in the community.

“My grandfather died from brain cancer when I was young and that motivated me to enter for the competition last year,” said Nandi.

The pageant is open to everyone between the ages of three and 29-years-old.

It will be divided into specific categories according to the ages of the contestants which are:

• Miss Tiny ( 3-5 years)

• Miss Petite (6-9 years)

• Miss Pre-teen ( 10-12 years)

• Miss Teen (13-15 years)

• Miss Junior (16-18 years)

• Miss Cansa Senior (19 and above)

• Mr Tiny (3-10 years)

• Mr Teen (11-15 years)

• Mr Cansa (16 years and above)

Family members of the contestants will be allowed to watch the pageant and the crowning of Mr/Miss Cansa by paying R10 for adults and R20 for children under 13 years.

An entry fee for the pageant will cost R250 and entries close on 25 July.

The pageant and the crowning will take place at Diamonds 4 Estate in Muldersdrift and registrations start at 11am.

To enter, send an email to Ester at estermpretorius@gmail.com and she will send you an entry form with the necessary requirements for the pageant.
