Holy day for Baha’i faith

We would like to wish our Baha'i readers well as they commemorate the death of The Bab today.

Today people of the Baha’i faith will celebrate Martyrdom of the Báb in remembrance of The Báb who was executed.

In 1844, ‘The Báb’ declared himself a messenger of God. This attracted many people to follow his faith.

However, because the leaders of the state in Persia did not approve of his beliefs, they decided to kill him on 9 July 1850.

Since then, the people who follow his faith, commemorate this day to mark the anniversary of his death.

Today, all Baha’is are expected to take off from work. A special prayer will be made at noon as they believe it was about the same time Báb was killed.

We would like to wish all our Baha’i readers well for today.
