Fundraising done Bond-style at Westview Clinic

Nothing says ‘We appreciate your support’ like an extravagant men’s breakfast, James Bond-style.

The Westview Clinic Breakfast Royale this morning (Thursday 9 July) focused on thanking their supporters and donators, celebrating the sobriety of their recovering addicts and wining and dining new possible sponsors and funders.

The morning kicked off with strong coffee and delicious muffins followed by a deluxe buffet-style breakfast which included poached eggs, bacon, pap and delicious sides of mushrooms, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Reverend Mpho Chaane opened with prayer.

While waiting for TV-star Sello Maake Ka Ncube to take to the podium and MC the event, attendees were entertained by the talented Letlahogonolo Tau, a trained opera singer and, as it happens, a volunteer nurse at the clinic.

Clinic director Freda Steenkamp teasingly said they have a star-studded personnel who will give every care to ensure recovering addicts are on a safe and comfortable road to sobriety.

Several recovering addicts that worked the programs at the clinic gave testimonials as to their time there.

The glamorous morning event was concluded with a clinic tour and networking session.

The clinic is currently involved in community development including a food garden project and a blanket project for disadvantaged communities on the West Rand.
