Put your charity in a box and donate

The Charity Box shop seeks donations from the public.

The Charity Box, a store located in Wilro Park is reaching out to the community for donations.

Supporting organisations in need is something Robert Miller, owner of the Charity Box is devoted to.

“Sometimes people come to the shop for food and we help them wherever we can,” he said.

The Charity Box has donated to various charities on a regular basis and has fed over 500 children’s empty stomachs to date. They also make food parcels for the elderly.

Robert said they are in desperate need for funding for a panel van to make transportation of their goods a lot easier. “Right now, we do not have enough space in the vehicle we are using and if we get a bigger vehicle, we would be able to increase the amount of food we donate to the feeding schemes,” Robert said.

Robert has requested for the following items:

• Clothing

• Furniture

• Paintings

• Books

• Computers

• Ornaments

• Bric-a-Brac

The Charity Box will also be having a cake sale on 18 July for Mandela Day and they ask for donations such as tarts, cakes and biscuits or alternatively, R25.00. The cake sale will take place from 9am until 1pm.

As a form of giving back to the community, the Charity Box started a draw you can enter when you sms the word ‘Care’ to 41423. The winner will get a three-piece antique leather luggage set.
