A male suspect in his 20s was arrested on 6 July after a reported rape in Muldersdrift.
According to Muldersdrift Police spokesperson Warrant Officer, Hitler Ngwenya, it is alleged that on 4 July at around 7pm, a 13-year-old girl was home alone.
“The 25-year-old man forcefully entered the house, grabbed the victim by her hand, [and] took her to his house where he repeatedly raped her.”
Ngwenya said according to reports, the perpetrator continued this ordeal for several days unnoticed. The suspect is expected to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court shortly.
Police are urging parents and guardians to never leave young children unattended, especially girls.
