Ruimsig finalist continues her journey toward the final deadline

RUIMSIG – Lee Nagel continues her charity campaign in the final stretch of the SA Bachelor and Bachelorette Competition.

The SA Bachelor and Bachelorette competition is continuing its momentum as Ruimsig resident and Bachelorette finalist, Lee Nagel (26) is only too aware. This since she only has just over four months before the winners are announced on 7 November. And she is the first to admit it is a juggle. As she recently started her own business she finds the competition deadlines quite daunting. She initially tried to separate her work from the competition but finds she is able to manage everything by merging it all together. “Now I’m keeping track of one thing instead of six,” Nagel says.

When asked why she entered, she says, “One of my friends entered me and to this day I don’t know who it was. I have my suspicions but nobody’s disclosing anything.” She is happy to be in the competition though. She adds, “I said this year that I wanted to ‘do good’ on a bigger level but I didn’t know how, so obviously somebody heard.”

She continued, “As I’m an ambassador for Amadea House of Safety which is a non-governmental institution and they don’t have any subsidies, and any awareness will help them, it all helps. They don’t ask for donations, but rather for blankets and food and I think with awareness, people would be able to donate and know where to drop off and what it entails.” Regardless of whether or not she wins the competition, she insists she will continue to work with Amadea House of Safety.

Nagel’s upcoming events are as follows:

August: Wine and Food Pairing (which will include wine tasting) will take place and a chef will be on hand to provide the food. All the information will be posted through Zomato, Facebook and other social media to get as many people there as possible. The entrance fee is R100 per person and children under 16 will enter for free.

Beginning of October she will hold a Beers for Charity event where 50 per cent of the beer proceeds will be donated to charity.

End of October she will combine her motocross hobby into an event for adults and children alike.

She will also attend the Women’s Day event held at Eagle Canyon Golf Estate where Ruby Angel has kindly donated four dresses for auction.

All information will be confirmed and posted on her official Facebook page.
