Man arrested for drugs and stolen firearms

Tip-off leads to arrest.

On 26 June at about 11am members from Florida Police received information about drug activities at a flat in Florida North.

The premises was searched and the following were found:

· Two stolen firearms. A state firearm (Rosebank Police) that was stolen during a house breaking in Sophiatown. The other firearm was taken during an armed robbery in Fairlands.

· A variety of drugs which include 45 mandrax tablets, cat (64 grams), dagga (106 grams) and chrystal meth (40.9 grams.

· 287 counterfeit DVD’s

· R3668 in cash.

A 31-year-old male was arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms, dealing in drugs and possession of counterfeit goods.

He appeared in the Roodepoort magistrate court on 29 June.
