Last day to donate to Claw

You have one day left to bring your Claw donation to the Record's office.

Durban Deep – Tomorrow is officially the last day to hand in your donations at the Roodepoort Forensic Pathology Services or at the Roodepoort Record’s office on the corner of Genl Pienaar and Ham Street in Witpoortjie.

The challenge to collect as many goods for Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) will come to an end at close of business on Friday, 3 July. The challenge started after the Record paid a visit to Claw in Durban Deep and the founder of the organisation, Cora Bailey described some of the horrific scenes they have to visit in order to save an animal’s life.

Cora is well-known for her humanitarian work in that area and residents often knock on Claw’s door to ask for donations of some sort. The Forensic team decided to take the Record up on their challenge to collect dog and cat food, blankets for animals and for the community and second-hand clothes that will be handed out to the needy.

Although the donations were trickling in right in the beginning, the community rose to the challenge and donated some much needed goods for Claw. The Chief Executive Officer and founder of Miss Nature Conservation, Stephan Myburgh arrived at the Record’s office on Monday 29 June with bags of cat and dog food, donated by Spar in Greenhills and blankets donated by Cartridge Cove in Randfontein.

The donations will be handed over to Claw on Wednesday 8 July and the “winner” of this challenge will be announced. Should you still have the desire to help us “win” this challenge, please continue to donate to this worthy cause.
