Become the next green ambassador

Enter the Miss Nature Conservation SA and promote animal and nature conservation.

Entries for the Miss Nature Conservation South Africa pageant will be open this month to all young women who are animal and nature lovers.

The pageant which started in July last year has gone National since then as young women from areas as far as Potchefstroom entered the beauty pageant.

“We are looking for females who are willing to be ‘Green’ ambassadors.

“As soon as Miss Nature Conservation is crowned, she will be taught by a specific team about the importance of recycling, taking care of animals and upcycling (the use of recycled materials that produces a gift box, piggy bank, anything similar),” said the Chief Executive Officer of the pageant, Stephan Myburgh.

The pageant will be divided into three categories according to their ages. Pre-teen (10-13), Miss Teen (14-17) and Miss Nature Conservation (18-25).

Stephan said this year’s competition is going to be bigger, better and tougher.

“The judges will be very strict this year and will pay attention to every detail of the contestant but most importantly, she must be passioante about animal and nature conservation.”

He added that the judges will choose the contestant who has the most knowledge, care and understanding of animals. “She will be tested on this through various challenges she will have to participate in.

Entries will open on 16 July and will be accessed through the Roodepoort Record’s newspaper as well as on the Miss Nature Conservation web site.

The crowning will take place in December and the venue is yet to be confirmed.
